Victoria Toy

Victoria Toy, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, Atlanta, Ga. Victoria provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality Therapy methods for individuals, couples, and families to focus on issues related to relationships, parenting, adoption, geriatrics, grief, loss, and depression.  A large portion of her experience has been in the field of intellectual disabilities with both adults and children and working with families who support them.  She has a special calling to these families and children dealing with Autism, Asperger’s, mild to severe intellectual disabilities and the myriad of problems that occur while working through their very specific needs and the systems that support them. Victoria strives to create a safe and comfortable counseling environment that can offer relief to those who are struggling with life’s many problems.

Community Involvement:

Victoria has lived in Sylvania full time since 1998.  She served as a Screven County Extension Agent for UGA for 5 years working with youth.  Victoria has served on the Board of the Screven County Collaborative and has been involved in many community activities.  Her passion is for strong families, a healthy community and bringing awareness to mental illness.  In 2004, she became the Director at Screven TASC working with adults with intellectual disabilities.  Her involvement in this population continues and she has been working with the geriatric population for nearly a year.  Her experience as a mental health professional has a wide range of expertise ranging from early childhood to late stage dementia and Alzheimer’s.  Recognizing that anyone in their lifetime may experience periods of mental health needs, Victoria is trying to make the stigma of counseling a thing of the past.
